Coming to a theater near you this Christmas, the good people at Marvel and 20th Century Fox are bringing us all something special. DeadPool, the foul mouthed, half dead, mercenary has received the PG-13 treatment for the holidays. How is this possible? How will it turn out? Who knows, and who cares? Because the trailer is everything it needs to be to take our money. On the cusp of the blockbuster Deadpool 2, the franchise decides to throw a curve ball, and it is exactly that.
Statement from Ryan Reynolds :

“Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006,” Ryan Reynolds told Deadline. “I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…”

With that being said, it appears what we are gearing up for is a spin or reimagined Deadpool 2 specifically tailored for the family audience and the holidays. Picking up the likes of once childhood star Fred Savage, ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL will be paying homage to Savage’s starring role in the 1987 bedtime-story classic THE PRINCESS BRIDE.

All is well that ends wel, as for every ticket sold, $1 will go to the charity Fudge Cancer – previously known as Fuck Cancer, who have graciously changed their name to be more PG-13 friendly for the 12 days of Once Upon A Deadpool’s release.
